PUBLIC RELATIONS ACCOUNT COORDINATOR

THE POSITION: 

  • Public Relations Account Coordinators are responsible for managing the day-to-day administrative needs for a variety of accounts at Polk & Co. Ideal candidates are proactive, highly organized, detail oriented, and effective communicators. Account Coordinators will have the opportunity to interface with a number of Broadway professionals across the theatrical landscape as they play a key role in implementing successful publicity campaigns. 

  • Account Coordinators report to Account Managers.

 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following):

 

  • Monitor and service daily client media coverage.

  • Service daily media requests.

  • Distribute approved press releases.

  • Build and maintain targeted press lists in company database.

  • Provide research assistance on request as it pertains to media pitches and targeting client information.

  • Manage production assets for distribution to members of the press – Production photos, b-roll footage, press releases, etc.

  • Acquire, organize, and manage all Playbill-related information for assigned theatrical clients.

  • Manage press seat and critic ticketing for theatrical productions.

  • Draft and disseminate memo and posting notices for interviews, events, press opportunities, press junkets, onsite interviews, theatre visits, photo shoots, opening nights, etc.

  • Assist with the booking of approved transportation, glam and grooming when in support of client interviews and press opportunities.

  • Provide logistical and organizational assistance as it pertains to event coordination.

  • Occasional evening and weekend responsibilities shall include assisting with opening night parties, critic performances, press events, red carpets, and award campaigns. Services provided in excess of employee’s standard 40-hour work week are eligible for overtime compensation.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • An interest and passion for theater!

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, PR, English, Communication, or Liberal Arts recommended, but not required.

  • Relevant industry or internship experience a plus.

  • Attention to detail and exemplary time management and organizational skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure.

  • Acknowledge and respect the need to keep client information confidential.

  • Basic understanding of media needs and how to successfully build and manage positive media relationships.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and basic understanding of Adobe Photoshop.

  • Tactical understanding of all social media platforms and management.

  • Ability to adapt and become proficient in additional business software, as needed.
